Right now I am reading Light A Penny Candle by Maeve Binchy and I'm loving it. I do enjoy her story telling.
I think Librarything is a better social networking tool than facebook in regards to meeting like minded people..not so much for finding lost friends of course. So in terms of the social network factor, I would use this site more than facebook...doesn't seem as potentially "harmful"..but I could be wrong. I found it very easy to use, though I don't know why people want to keep track of the books they have already read?? I can see it being a great way to get feedback on books I'm interested in reading, searching for books ect. It's a great site..
Great job embedding the widget, Carol. I find Library Thing helpful because of the tags. When I'm looking for a book to read, I pick one from my library that I enjoyed and click on the tags associated with that book to find other books similar to the one I enjoyed!
ReplyDeleteWhy keep track of books you've already read?! Well, when you get old like me, you actually forget whether or not you have read something. (I know, it can't have been a great book if you can't remember it!) Or sometimes, you will remember the author but not the title, etc. Many people keep a log of books they've read along with notations. I've always meant to do that but can never seem to find the time.
