Facebook

Well, I've used my real name and I'm a little nervous, but also curious. I hear so many people enjoying facebook, but I've always thought of it as a site for teenagers etc. I'm not one to sit at a computer all day "chatting" on line, I'd rather chat on the phone or in person, but I can see how this is a great tool to find old friends, or to chat long distance without running up a phone bill...but I can do that with e-mail.

I'm gonna' to see how it goes. One thing that does concern me is removing my info. off the site if I decide it's not for me...how can you remove anything once it's already in cyber space??? I don't have a lot of info. on there, just my name, birthdate and a yahoo address.

I can't say weather or not I will continue using facebook...it's early days yet. I must say, it was kind of fun seeing if I recognized anyone from my high school....I haven't asked to become a friend of anyone...yet...I don't think I will. I'll wait and see if someone interesting finds me! :-))) (Preferably one old flame I haven't seen in a while but would very much like to)....*wink.

Time will tell.

  1. I, too, would rather chat in person or on the phone. Your cautious approach to Facebook is prudent. As Library Lady suggests, it is a good idea to explore the different settings under the Account tab, especially if that old flame finds you and you decide to keep your Facebook account! (While we had some goals in mind for this program, helping someone reconnect with an old flame is one we hadn't anticipated! Let us know how it works out!)

  2. Carol good luck with Facebook and old flames. I register two years ago and an old flame contacted me immediately. My husband was NOT impressed so I delete my Facebook acct. I'm scared to register again.
